Who's Who at Summer Camp

Sharon & Mark McClenaghan
Camp Directors

Sharon and Mark McClenaghan have been working in the camp and retreat industry for 25 years. What started as a summer adventure turned into a lifetime passion of working with kids and having fun. They are now Operations Managers at Legacy 925, as well as two of the directors of the Legacy 925 Day Camp. They are originally from Ireland, but moved to America to pursue their passions. They have two girls, a senior and a freshman at Oxford High School.

Sharon got her Degree in Textile and Interior Design, but here she is! She runs her own decor and design business from home on the side. You can always find her with coffee in hand and a crazy amount of energy.

Mark is just a giant kid in an adult body (We swear, he’s the human version of Peter Pan). He loves to play with kids and get to be one of them as much as possible. Mark loves playing rugby, and he’s a runner at heart. You can catch him getting in his miles around the area and participating in the local Tough Mudder whenever it comes around.

Camp Team Director

My name is Alisha and I’m so excited to be working with the Legacy 925 day camp this summer! I’ve been working in the camp and retreat industry for years and am excited to see where this new venture takes me! I’ve spent my camp years as a day camp counselor, a day camp director, a lead overnight counselor, and as an assistant program director–as well as having been a camper myself. I’m excited to use my previous experience as an intern at Legacy 925 and as one of the Day Camp Directors.

This summer, I’m finishing up my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Oakland University. I also write for my own blog. I love building up and empowering young people to take on the world, and cannot wait to be able to invest in the day camp kiddos!!

Special Needs Camp Counselor

My name is Cassidy and this year I’ll be a junior at Central Michigan University. I’m going to school to be a special education teacher and I hope to teach students with cognitive impairments. I’ve been working with kids for the past 8 years as a day babysitter/caretaker, day camp counselor, teacher, and small group leader. In my free time I like to read, rock climb, go to church, and spend time with friends (I’m super extroverted). During the school year, I am a volunteer coordinator for the Student Council for Exceptional Children, and a co-leader of a ministry for adults with special needs through His House Christian Fellowship.

I have previously volunteered for and worked for camps such as Camp Barnabas, Springhill, and Echo Grove, and this year, I am excited to be working for Legacy 925!

Camp Counselor

Hi, I’m Jessica! I’m about to finish my freshman year at Northern Michigan University. I’m a nursing major, and I have a passion for health care. I look forward to the day I’ll get to have my own patients! I have been a nanny since I was in middle school, until the day I moved away to be a camp counselor at a small local camp. I loved every single second of it!

I have a passion for working with kids, and I strongly believe kids are our future. I love every minute I get to spend hanging out with them. My other experience helping to supervise, lead, and coach children was during my volunteer time at my local church. I did everything from coordinating the nursery, to leading small groups of middle school girls.

While I love every moment of living in the UP and all the new adventures I’m faced with daily, I’m so excited to come home this summer and spend every day of it with your kids!
